• We need to process certain of your personal data to provide our apps' features and functionalities, including your photos, if you choose to share them through the Yamarin mobile application, and your location data and speed for tracking routes and your boat's location, if you have provided your consent.

Who is responsible for the processing of your personal data?

We are the data controller responsible for the processing of your personal data. In addition, we share information with our IT partner responsible for the development of Yamarin Q and the Yamarin application.

How did we obtain your personal data?

We will collect and process your personal data in relation to our apps, if you:

• Download and use our apps from the Apple App Store or Google Play store.
• When you link Yamarin Q and the Yamarin mobile app, you give the right to collect information about the boat.
• When you register the Yamarin ID needed to use the Yamarin mobile application, you provide us with personal information.

Which personal data do we process when you create and use an app with Yamarin account?

If you create and use a Yamarin account for our apps, we process the following personal data of you:

If you create and use a Yamarin account for our apps, we ask you to provide the following personal data (your account information):

• First and last name
• Email address
• Log-in details: username and password.
• Country of use of the app
• Language

If you link your boat's Yamarin Q display and the Yamarin mobile app, we will also process your following information:

• Boat location information, traveled distances, saved routes and waypoints, battery charge status
• Amount of fuel
• Yamarin Q diagnostic information (serial number, SIM card information).
• Application settings (e.g. push notifications and language choices).

Why do we process this personal data, if you use our apps with a Yamarin account, and what are the legal grounds for processing your personal data?

We use your personal data for the following purposes, based on the following legal grounds applicable to the listed purposes:

To allow  you to create a Yamarin account and use it to use the functions of the Yamarin mobile application, offer Yamarin Q extension packages, back up information on the Yamarin Q device and anonymously analyze boat usage data. To enable us to support you in using Yamarin Q and the Yamarin App.	Performance of a contract with you: We process your personal data to provide you with the functionalities of the app and our services with your account.
To exercise or defend against legal claims. To allow your connection to invite you or interact with you. To comply with requests from authorities.	Legitimate interests: We may process your personal data as necessary for achieving our and/or others' legitimate interests. We will have a legitimate interest in processing your personal data in case of any disputes.
If you provided consent to receive marketing communications relating to Yamaha Motor products, events, competitions, and services If you provided your consent, to build a marketing profile. If you provided consent to send you push notifications. If you provided consent, to analyze your use of the relevant app with the use of an analytics partner (Apple App Store Analytics for iOS and Google Firebase for Android) and based on the gained insights further develop, resolve issues, and improve our apps and services. If you provided consent, to use your location data to provide specific functionalities of the app (for example to suggest routes and show the weather) If you use these features, to share your experiences, including tracked routes and details such as your speed. To allow you to pair your Connected Yamaha Motor unit with the Yamarin App via your device's internet connection. To allow you to keep track of your vehicle data easily from the Yamarin App. To notify you of recommended maintenance and help you to have you unit services on time. To share the vehicle data together with your unique user ID with our parent company in Japan and analyze the vehicle data to track the Connected Yamaha Motor's malfunctions and performance in general and improve the technical quality of our products with the insights we gain from your vehicle data.   Pairing your Yamarin Q unit with the Yamarin App is optional. If you do not pair your Connected Yamaha Motor unit, you will not be able to use the connected features.	Consent: You can withdraw your consent at any time at the bottom of every marketing message, such as online newsletters, you receive, via your account or your settings within our apps, your device settings or by contacting us using the contact details below. Withdrawing your consent will not affect the lawfulness of our use of your personal data before your withdrawal.

Legal obligation: We process your personal data when necessary to comply with our legal obligations. We are required to ensure the security of our processing of personal data. How long do we retain your personal data

We will keep your personal data only for so long as necessary for the described purposes. If you have created and use a Yamarin account, we will retain all your information associated with your account until you amend or delete any of such information in your account or if you delete your account by contacting us using the contact details below.  

Who will have access to my personal data 

Depending on your choices, your personal data will be processed by persons working for or on behalf of us on a need-to-know basis for the purposes described above. We also use the services of third parties who process your personal data on our behalf, acting as a data processor, such as for providing App and data hosting and customer management services. In each case, we have concluded appropriate data processor agreements in line with the applicable data protection laws. In addition, we will also share personal data with others, depending on how you use our apps:
